After being the laughing stock for the whole 2016-2017 season for blowing a 28-3 lead in the Super Bowl the Atlanta Falcons once again blow a huge lead. The game against the Dallas Cowboys started of very well for the Falcons as they jumped out to a 20-0 lead in the first quarter after 3 Cowboys’ fumbles. At this point the highest win probability for the Falcons was 91% this meant that live betting was almost impossible as nobody even considered the Cowboys to come back. The Cowboys and Falcons kept even foot in the second quarter as they went into halftime 29-10.

The Cowboys scored 14 unanswered points in the third quarter to try and mount a comeback. People who follow sport bet alerts and live betting will see that even though they started to come back the odds were still heavily in favor of the Falcons while the Cowboys were still a major underdog. The Falcons could not help themselves when Julio Jones dropped a deep dime pass from Gage. On the next drive, Cooper caught a deep ball from Dak to build even more momentum.

The fourth quarter started and the Falcons seems to have found their rhythm again as they score ten points to put the score at 39-24 with 8 minutes left. At this point Atlanta has a 99% win probability so the live odds for the Cowboys to win were crazy. But what happened then is one of the best sport comebacks of all time. Dak Prescott put the team on his shoulders and scored 2 touchdowns. Dallas then converted an onside kick when the Falcons didn’t jump on the ball when they could. With 1:49 left Dallas put themselves into field goal range. Greg Zuerlein, who is considered a great clutch time kicker, kicked the ball through the uprights from the 46-yard line to win the game 39-40.

The Falcons are the first team to lose a game in which they scored at least 39 points and had 0 turnovers. Before this teams who were in the same position were 440-0. The most important take-away from this game is that it’s not even because the Cowboys played amazing that they came back. The Cowboys fumbled the ball 3 times while also turning it over on downs twice.
